Philosophy
I first encountered Robert Jones at a photography discussion forum and was immediately struck by his forthright and uncompromising views. How refreshing then to find that on viewing his work that his photographs complement and validate his philosophy.
Viewing a photograph by Robert Jones can be an intense experience, as though each image is a distillation of the subject. The photographs often have a feeling of unease reminiscent of the paintings of Edward Hopper or the cinematography of David Lynch, the senses bombarded by intense hue, foreboding shadow and unsettling perspective. Composition is key.
He has accepted, celebrated and used his influences to good effect, building upon them to create a unique and compelling vision.
Enjoy!
